Blazers way too banged up to get in a running game, they slow the pace

Message to anyone who wants to “wait and see” on Phoenix without Steve
Nash. Why wait? The general is down, the team is 2,500 miles from home,
they layed down and died at Indiana after he went out with his injury last
night, and now they have to change cities and play without their leader in
a sold-out arena, against an opponent with revenge and a lot of young
legs. When they beat the Wizards earlier in the season, both sides had
played the night before but Washington had won in OT at the LA Lakers, a
landmark performance by a young team followed by the inevitable letdown.
Different situation now, and the Wizards have inside defensive-specialist
Etan Thomas back in his second game from an injury absence to help stop
the Phoenix flow even more than Nash’s absence will.

I have been winning alot on G. Tech since Elder’s return but they will

also leaning to the under but damn Duke has been scoring alot so may just

cause that’s exactly what he looks like everytime he steps on the mound
this season.. After getting shelled his past few starts,, I watched him
lose any confidence he had today against Cleveland and got yanked again in
the second inning,, just doesn’t have it at all this year and I’m sure the
mind games in his head right now must be racing a million miles an hour…
Hard to believe he was pitching in the all star game last season.. Amazing
how big a part confidence plays in pro sports.

There are two sources that I use. sportsbook.com and sportsinsights (can
be found at letitridesports.com under Wise Guy Moves tab). They both are
usually within 3 or 4 % points of each other, and are based on several
different offshore sportsbooks, so is a very good snapshot of the public

I would wait until tonight to play these as I believe you may get 5 and
69.5 by tip off. As I stated a few days ago, don’t think the series will
be that dramatic. Spurs have the better players and the better team.
Fully expect this game to have more fouls and more stoppage and more
points. In the end the Spurs should be able to grind out anothe double
digit victory.

Funny how the Pistons are the “team” that plays the game the way it is
suposed to be played – yet every other game Coach Brown laments how many
jump shots his guards take etc. It is the Spurs who play the game the
right way and they do it better than the Pistons.
Duncan 3rd trophy, 3rd MVP, dynasty that needs to be respected. Really a
great run that may last a few more years.

Yesterday I gave out Purdue and Cal as two “over” season total wins bets.
Today, I am adding another “over” to that list.

MIAMI “over 9 -105″

I don’t think Miami’s defense is getting enough credit. I just read an
article yesterday that said three of the nine returning starters on
defense are actually now second string heading into fall practice. One of
them is senior safety Greg Threat, who was voted to the preseason all-ACC
team. Well, he’s second string entering practice. So is kick return stud
Devin Hester, who was slated to start at one of the corners.
Anyway, this should tell you something – Miami is absolutely loaded on
defense. But there’s more to this bet than that. Every once in a while a
program has a player that in many ways holds it down. The coaches and fans
are well aware there is a ceiling to this player’s ability and you just
have to grin and bear it until he graduates. That player for Miami was
Brock Berlin. Well, that era is now over and the Miami offense can now get
on with things. Super recruit Kyle Wright should take over at QB with
Kirby Freeman pushing him. The rest of the skill players are also talented
as you would expect at Miami. I am expecting Miami to put much more of an
emphasis on developing the run this year before ever thinking about the
pass. That’s what you do with a new QB and this could actually make
Miami’s offense very potent in the process.
What I like about Miami’s offense this season is that at every position
there’s a potential breakout player. I don’t think you could say last year
as Tyrone Moss had to wait behind Frank Gore, Wright had to wait behind
Berlin and the receivers didn’t have Ryan Moore.
Schedule is always an important consideration when making these plays,
and Miami’s lays out perfectly.
The opener at Florida State is actually shaping up as one of the better
side wagers of the season and the Canes only have four road games the rest
of the way after that. The game at VaTech in early November is the only
game I don’t feel good about. But Miami is not without a fighting chance
there. I fully expect Miami to be undefeated going into that game and if
they lose it, only a game at Wake and home against Virginia stands in the
way of this bet being a winner. Miami will be prohibitive favorites in
those two games and the only game I see on the Canes schedule where they
might not be favored is VaTech.

The Wolfpack beat VT last year in Blacksburg with an defense that returns seven starters from an underachieving team that went 5-6 but led the nation in defensive yards allowed per game. They were -17 in turnovers and it was up to the defense to keep them in games. Now they open the ACC season at home against what many think is a potential National Champion in Virginia Tech.

N.C.State has a terrific defensive line that should slow the VT running game and force the little brother Vick into making reads and throwing the ball, something he has yet to prove he will be skilled at(just like his BIG brother)… the Wolfpack also return 7 offensive starters from last year including senior QB Jay Davis, who wasn’t effective last year but will be improved with 7 returnees from last year’s offense back as well. VT was 100 yards per game BETTER at home than on the tough ACC road and I think the ‘Pack can win this one at home, straight-up… N.C. State 19, Virginia Tech 17.

Some other terrible teams to bet on of late at Atl and St. Louis. Of course all of us bettors know this and most of us dont find outselves betting these teams. Occasionally you will find yourself seeing an angle on some terrible teams. Today happened to me when I bet St. Louis and the Cubbies on the same day!

If you ever find yourself about to pull the trigger on one of these teams, think not only twice, but three or four times before doing so.
