I cant believe the media here in Cinti is sold on that the Bengals will
win outright at New England Sunday. They got lucky yesterday but the
Ravens are one thing minus J.Lewis and Boller who? But the Patriots with

The NC/FSU totalis a mere 157 at the moment after moving up one point.
Doesn’t that look inviting?

Their are several reasons this total is low:

1. FSU shoots lots of the threes, but UNC is one of the best in the
league at defending the three with their agile and long guards. Many
shots will be altered.

2. FSU will slow the tempo and play half court basketball in an attempt
to frustrate the primary and secondary breaks of Carolina.

3. FSU can bang down low and their adrenaline will lead to several key
defensive stops.

4. The oddsmakers are tired of getting pounded by people betting UNC
overs and they have very little time to adjust basketball spreads, so they
probably added a few points to the total figuring it would get bet up. It
looks like people are still betting the over also, very little value here.

With all that being said, this game still has a chance to go over 180 if
the seminoles decide to run with the heels. I just dont see any team
winning against the heels by running with them other than Illinois or
Wake. Coach Leonard Hamilton should be aware of this and slow up the
tempo.

The one play tonight that I see that really stands out is based on a
couple of things. Indiana played one of the toughest non conference
schedules ever, North Carolina, UConn, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Missouri, NC
Charlotte. Even their 2nd tier teams were no pushovers. Indiana has been
money at home, where they lost only one conference game. Wright has found
his stroke, and has been a great assist man also. On the other hand,
Vandy has been horrible on the road and are mainly a jump shooting team.
They played a little better down the stretch, which is the only thing that
is keeping this line close.

Fresno  +3 (buy).  The line has dropped to +2 at a few books so I would recommedn playing it now and getting it on the key number of 3.  Fresno will dismantle this soft Oregon team.  They are the better team on both sides.  Oregon is very undersized on defense, and for a power team like Fresno that spells trouble.  Kelly Clemons is a decent QB for Oregon, but this Fresno team swarms like a pack of anygry bees in the secondary.  Oh, and then Oregon plays USC next week.

I can’t believe that the announcers don’t know basic football rules.  On the first touchdown by Mizzou, the receiver caught the ball in the end zone and was then bookended by two Nebraska players, causing an airborne fumble which was supposedly caught by another Mizzou player.  Replay was called and the announcers focused on whether the second catch was a trap or not.  What the ESPN announcers missed was the fact that the original receiver had control of the ball before he was hit by the two Nebraska players.  Control past the plane of the goal line is a completion and the play stops there.   It’s over.  Touchdown. No receiver in control has to survive a tackle attempt in the endzone with the ball in order for it to be a touchdown.  The hits after the catch, and the fumble that resulted, were meaningless.

When teams meet up right away in the other teams venue, I’m usually one to hop aboard the team that lost in the first meeting. However, I just can’t do that tonight knowing how badly the Sacramento Kings have been playing to start the season.

It’s not often that Denver out-muscles its opponent, but that was just the case in their last meeting as the Nug’s big guys (Anthony, Martin, and Camby) all had big nights. They also dominated the boards out-rebounding them by 20!!! I’m looking to fade Sacramento for a majority of the first third of the season until the new guys start playing with consistency. Until then, grab the points. Even in Arco!!!

Brewers+130 vs Mets. Capuano vs. Glavine. 2000’s vs. 1980’s. Lefty vs. Lefty. Brewers are 1-3 their last 4 games and the Mets are 7-1 overall and have not lost in 9 days. Capuano didnt pitch very good on sunday and got the loss, but he is not gonna get shelled again. The thing about Cap is that he has the best pickoff move in the game and NO ONE steals on him, which will include Reyes and Beltran.  Glavine has pitched against the Nationals and the Marlins and is 1-0 on the season. This is the night where the streaks end, and glavine gets his first loss and the mets end their 6 game winning streak. If the Brewers dont win tonight, im gonna cover my losses tomorrow. If they dont win tomorrow, im gonna cover my losses on sunday with Ben Sheets on the mound. Mets are a great baseball team and will be the NL East Champs, but they cant play like this all year.
