typical high scoring Big 12 title game

2-3 again yesterday cannot seem to break into the + lately.
Year to date
5-8 (-3.8 units)

Today I really like this play. Toledo + 4 1/2 over Buffalo. Toledo has won
the last 7 games vs Buffalo. Enough said they have their number.
Toledo wins this game but take the points as a bonus. I know Buffalo is
playing well blah blah blah, but when someone owns you they own you.

NCAA Hoops Mastaz POD

Iowa State +5 @ Nebraska: This is the time of year when I like to start
riding teams that are gaining momentum heading into tournament season.
Iowa State has been playing much better ball of late with the rapid
emergence of Freshmen guard Tasheed Carr. His increased playing time the
last four contests has really lit up the team, which was already strong
with the Big Three of G Curtis Stinson, G Will Blalock, and C Jared
Homan. Nebraska is once again muddling through another season in the Big
12, and the horrible play of senior G Marcus Neal Jr. of late says a lot
about this team’s state of mind. As a result, coach Barry Collier’s seat
is getting pretty hot. On paper, this looks like a very even matchup, and
one might even lean towards Nebraska given Iowa State’s inconsistent play
at times, and their weakness on the road, where they just won thier first
Big 12 road game in four years. But I love teams that start to put it
together in February, and the emergence of Carr adds a bit of excitement
to this team that it did not have before. Can Iowa State win their second
Big 12 road game in a row?

Santa Anita Races 5,7,8 and 9 Analysis

Here is today’s Southern California handicap from one of my business
associates, he had a killer day yesterday, let’s hope he keeps it up today
with a $300,000.00 Guaranteed Pick 6.

————————————-

Today?s Action from Santa Anita: I will focus on races 5, 7, 8, and 9. In
addition, I will put together $30 into the Pick 4 (Races 7-10) with a
guarantee pool of $300,000.

Race Five: Starter Allowance, 6-Ѕ Furlongs Turf, Fillies and mares
Four-and-up BLUE CAY (#2, 7-2) is being sent out by trainer Thomas Bell
who has two races from four starters in the past seven days and he looks
for his third win with this Rainbow Blues filly who should receive a
terrific pace scenario for her to pounce on her rivals into the stretch.
She closed from tepid fractions to finish a fine second at 31-1 in her
turf debut behind a repeat winner in a creditable effort. She returned
from a brief two-month hiatus with a useful prep on the wet fast track on
January 5 and returned to the turf course in her second start off the
bench and was forwardly placed to tepid fractions, split rivals into the
stretch, and stayed on through the lane while out finished by closer that
return to win her next start. She parlayed that race to a similar effort
in her last start and it was in this race that makes me believe that this
dark bay or brown filly will be more accustom to the downhill turf course.
She sat a perfect trip behind the early leaders and made a three move to
engage Mercedes Dancers and Outta the House into mid-stretch before
flattening out on her run. With these three routes under her belt she
should have enough stamina or foundation on the cut back and the presence
of Too Moo Love, Glamour Cat, My Outlet, and Sienna?s Lane should allow
Rene Douglas enough time to patiently bide him time before unleashing this
fillies late kick at a hint of a price to begin the Pick Six.
Wagering Strategies:
Play the (2) BLUE CAY to WIN
Main Exacta: 2-8. Small reverse
Small Exacta: 2-6. No reverse

Race Seven: Claiming $40,000 to $35,000, 6-Ѕ Furlongs Turf, Four-year olds
and up WITNESS THIS (#9, 6-1) has the type of tactical speed that will
allow him to be forwardly placed either on the lead or just sitting right
off the early leaders and he is one of the very few that have earn Beyer
Speed Figure that is within par or par in the past three months. After
finishing a fine second last fall at Inglewood track, he returned from a
brief freshening with a creditable third-place finish on the hillside turf
course where he was force to race wide throughout and yet put in a
powerful late run to fall 1-ј-lengths short behind a runner-up that
returned to win last week. Despite falling short, he earn a Beyer Speed
Figure that is par for this class level and was stretched out to one-mile
on March 3 and despite finishing ahead of only one horse, he still showed
signs of maintaining his form with a creditable effort. He battled for the
early lead all the way to the top of the stretch before giving way earning
a speed figure that is within par for this class level. He takes a
significant drop in class from an open Allowance NW2 or Optional Claiming
$62,500 to restricted $40,000 claiming level for trainer Jeff Mullins who
has won 3 of his last 10 starters in the past week. With Smile N Wildcat
in this field leading the way, I expect Witness This to not be too far
behind and with that route under her belt have the necessary bottom to
wear down the leaders in the stretch under strong handling of Victor
Espinoza to start our Pick Four at a price.
Wagering Strategies:
Play the (9) WITNESS THIS to WIN and PLACE Main Exacta Boxes: 9-8, 9-10,
and 9-12.

Race Eight: G2 Potrero Grange Handicap, 6-Ѕ Furlongs, Four-years olds and
up PERFECT MOON (#3, 10-1) is the type of play that I find intriguing
because of the fact he is vastly overlaid on the morning line and cuts
back a sixteenth of a mile to the distance of his win in the G3 Best Pal
at a two-year old. Moreover, this Malibu Moon gelding had two incredible
efforts at the difficult seven furlong distance that should set him up
perfectly to give trainer Doug O? Neil another win on already record meet
for the leading trainer. He was 34-1 when he returned from a brief
freshening in the G1 Malibu on opening day and nearly stole the race in a
race where the winner and third-place finisher rallied from tenth and
seventh respectively. He was on top of blazing early pace part of dueling
leaders, dropped back briefly before reengaging the pace setting Stone
Rain, put that rival away after running six furlongs in 1:08 1/5 and was
run down only in the final sixteenth of a mile by the favored winner that
went on to win the G2 Strub and G1 Santa Anita Handicap. He most likely
regress off that grueling Malibu effort when he split the field in the
Palos Verdes but bounce back with a game effort in the G2 San Carlos
Handicap last time. With the addition of blinkers, he was on top of a
lightening fast pace with Sinister G for the first half-mile, put that
rival away (finished eighth and last), turned away a challenge from
favored Mass Media, only to be out run by the perfect rail rally of Hasty
Kris. He earned a career best combination of pace and speed figures and
this cut back should suit him ideally as he can run his other pace rivals
into submission and hold off the closers. His half-mile breeze March 26
suggest he has maintain his form and is the one to reel in as not only our
best bet on the card but also are best long shot bet.
Wagering Strategies:
Play the (3) PERFECT MOON to WIN and PLACE Trifecta part-wheel: 3 /
2-4-6-9 / 2-4-6-9 = $12 for a $1 Wager Trifecta part-wheel: 2-4-6-9 / 3 /
2-4-6-9 = $12 for a $1 Wager Trifecta part-wheel: 2-4-6-9 / 2-4-6-9 / 3 =
$12 for a $1 Wager

Race Nine: Allowance NX1/Optional Claiming $80,000, 6-Ѕ Furlongs Turf,
Three-year olds JULIESUGARDADDY (#5, 8-1) is trained by Barry Abrams and
ridden Alex Bisono who have combined to win two races this meet one with
this three-year old at
$24 and the other yesterday aboard Master Heat yesterday at $44 suggesting
that bettors overlook horses send out by the Abrams barn and this gray
three-year old has not only the connections but also the pedigree to pull
off the upset. He is by the underrated site Unusual Heat who has connected
with 18% of turf starters to date and this horse is a full brother to
Spencer?s Magic who broke his maiden at Hollywood Park last year for this
same rider/trainer combination at $34. Moreover, Spencer?s Magic is a
two-time winner over the downhill turf course making this play a
intriguing one that can be rewarded in spades. This gray colt broke his
maiden in his second career start around one turn and then was force to
stretch out to two turns in his last three starts including being
overmatched in the G2 Santa Catalina behind 2004 Juvenile champion
Declan?s Moon. He cuts back to one turn today and with a series of routes
under his belt he should have enough foundation to be legged up on the cut
back. With a Tomlinson turf rating of
334 for the surface, a sire that has success with not only his turf horses
but specifically over this turf course, and trainer and jockey tandem that
are overlooked by the betting public, this gray colt might not be the most
likely winner, but he is the best gamble and if he runs to the
expectations of his connections then one will be rewarded at the windows
at a price.
Wagering Strategies:
Play the (5) JULIESUGARDADDY to WIN and PLACE Main Exacta Boxes: 5-2, 5-7,
and 5-8

Santa Anita Pick 4 Race 7

Race 7: (8) Sex Machine, (9) WITNESS THIS, (10) Tradition Rocks, and (12)
Ulterior Motives Race 8: (3) PERFECT MOON Race 9: (2) Khyber Pass, (5)
Juliesugardaddy, (7) Forzeen, and (8) LITTLEBITOFZIP Race 10: (4) Rusty
Nail, (7) Kay Max, and (10) Fogged In

Ticket A: 9 / 3 / 2-5-7-8 / 4-7-10 = 1 x 1 x 4 x 3 x $1 = $12
Ticket B 8-9-10-12 / 3 / 8 / 4-7-10 = 4 x 1 x 1 x 3 x $1 = $12
Ticket C: 9 / 3 / 8 / 4-7-10 = 1 x 1 x 1 x 3 x $2 = $6
Total Wager: $30

NOTE: I strongly suggest today?s Pick 4 plays instead of the Pick Six as
it is more affordable then the latter and still provide a healthy payoff.

Good Luck,

A short story about Wire2Wires life!

A man wakes up in the morning and it is 5:55 a.m. The temperature is 55
degrees and the humidity is 55%. He turns on his TV to channel 5. He gets
up and it is May 5th. He heads to work and his car has 55,555.5 miles on
the odometer. He gets to work goes to the 5th floor. He has five messages.
IT DAWNS ON HIM. He rushes to the race track. His ticket is $5 and he is
put in section 5, row 5, seat 5. In the fifth race is a horse called,
“Double Nickels”. He understands fate as spoken. He bets his entire bank
account and maxes all credit cards. The race is won… DOUBLE NICKELS CAME
