Vanderbilt/Wake Forest Under 49 (2 Units)

As we all know Deacon stud RB Barclay is out for this game. He carried the mail almost 250 times last year as he was the focal point of their offense, leading the ACC in rushing. However, even with him out the plan is still going to be to run the ball. Sophomore QB Mauk was second in rushing to Barclay although only starting just 3 games. On the defensive side of the ball for Wake they may give up yards but not much else in the red zone. They gave up only 69 percent TD’s in the RED Zone which led the ACC. Vandy too will look to run. They have big backs and will welcome the quick but smallish front seven that Wake has. A far cry from the behemoths they see in SEC play. Two run oriented offenses, first game of the year, stalled drives. Going Under.

TCU is stopping Utah’s run with 5 men in the box. When 7 can’t block 5, you’ve got major problems. Utah QB is also completely rattled. I don’t know why they don’t call a QB draw. It is wide open after he gets past the front 4, but he insists on waiting around until the DB’s close in on him. I don’t see how they pull this one out without a little help.

We passed the NBA tonight but offered these opinions to members…..Just
an FYI…

All trends point to an under play in both games tonight on TNT. Dallas &
Houston are both 10-6 under the total on season. Dallas is 5-1 under the
total in their L6 games, Houston has gone under their L3. Nevertheless, we
think this game may go over a low total number of 183 so we will pass.
Both teams are more than capable of putting up some points in front of
national audience and we believe Van Gundy will give his troops some
freedom to express themselves, considering early season lack of success.
Houston is desperate for win after starting the season 6-10 and Mavericks
have lost 5 of 8 games. Therefore, we think Dallas not justified in laying
7 points in this situation. We normally like to stay away from games when
both teams are having problems so we will pass.

We like the Denver over against a relatively low number in Denver tonight
mainly because of James/Anthony factor. Both players and young teams will
want to elevate (show off) their game in front of national audience.
However, current under trends are very strong so we will pass as premium
play. Denver under the total in 6 straight games and 7 of 8. Cleveland
under 5 of last 7 games.

Anyways…..I’m a huge Ohio State fan and i know these guys very well. I’m not just taking them for that reason, I have to tell you Iowa can’t compete with them as long as it’s not raining (Penn St.). I got mine in Thursday at -6.5, now up to 7 so buy a point to be safe. Ohio State should win by 2 scores easy. Rain is not supposed to hit the game.Let me know what you think.
